So many auto insurance commercials
Nov 16, 2008 Worth Blogging
I’ve noticed that everytime I watch TV I always see auto insurance commercials. Actually, almost all the commercials I see are about buying a car and about insurance. Not that I have something against all the auto insurance companies but it’s just that after hearing the commercial tag lines over and over I get quite annoyed. It’s just really annoying. I’m just trying to watch the regular TV program and these commercials keep coming up over and over. Ok…I get it. You got the lowest rates and the best coverage but I don’t own a car so I have really nothing to do with your commercials. Sometimes I think how awesome it would be if your cable provider actually ask you what type of commercials you want to see and they automatically filter it out for you. But that’s just me. Maybe there actually are some people out there who require seeing the same commercials over and over before buying in to the whole thing.

Need a new drive
Nov 16, 2008 Ideas
After storing so many photos, programs, games, music and video files, my laptop is almost out of disk space. A friend suggested that I should transfer my photos and videos to cds but that would take forever since I have gigabites worth of photos and videos. The easiest way that I’ve thought of is to transfer my files to an external hard drive. I’ve seen a 320 gb external drive go down to $75 which is really cheap and of course, transferring files to another drive is way faster than repeatedly copying files to cds. I’m somewhat excited about doing the mentioned process so then I could install some more games and do much more things with my laptop.

My hubby wants a new cellphone!
Nov 15, 2008 Cellphones
Its been a while since my hubby got his p990i and then after some time he gave it to me. Now, he wants the new G1 from T-Mobile or any phone that has a GPS receiver. His been eyeing it for a month now eversince it was launched. The one thing that makes him undecided is that, he doesn’t like the way it was designed. According to him, G1 looks like a plastic cellphone toy though he wants the color bronze or the white one but when he checked it at T-Mobile website, it is out of stock. So he is waiting for it.

But I don’t think he’s still going to buy this phone after he reads some short updates from other sites that I just visited a while ago and here’s what they’ve said: The phone is 4.6 x 2.16 x 0.63 inches, weighs 5.6 ounces, features a 480 x 320 HVGA display, sports 3G (obviously), GPS, has a 3.1-megapixel camera, supports up to 8GB of memory (though no format is mentioned), and will feature 5 hours of talktime with 130 hours of standby. Strangely, the phone won’t do video capture (what?), won’t have stereo Bluetooth, will require a Gmail account (this one is OK, we both have gmail account), and won’t be sold at stores outside of a 2-5 mile radius of T-Mobile’s 3G coverage areas. That last bit sounds a little odd to us, but we’re guessing a lot of the functionality of this device will be shot in non-3G regions.
Well, it is still up to him… I like the G1 though I hope he’ll get it

My classmate…
Nov 14, 2008 Friends, Worth Blogging
I remember my friend that happened to be my classmate back in grade school, she walked 3-4 hours just to get in the school. Her name is Ofelia, I like that girl coz she’s so industrious. She worked so hard in the golf club as a golf ball picker and collector. She worked on two different golf clubss in Davao. I don’t know how she managed her time but she was still able to have great grades. I wonder where she is now… I hope someday I can find her across the world wide web. I hope she also have a friendster account
Oh well, I’m just so bored that my mind is traveling backwards.

Cold Weather
Nov 13, 2008 Worth Blogging
The cold weather has finally come. The type of weather that I hate the most. Anyway, because of this weather, A week ago I busted out my winter boots. I have two pairs that were kept in a box since last year. Although I’m a little excited right now to wear my boots again, I know in a few weeks I’ll get tired of them and start cursing the cold weather. The only reason I like to wear winter boots is because I think they’re quite fashionable. I see a lot of people wearing a UGG Australia winter boots and I must say they really look good. Although this particular brand is a little bit pricey, it’s definetly worth it. This brand will sure keep your feet warm during the cold and wet winter season.

Bikers
Nov 13, 2008 Worth Blogging
I’m really surprized that there’s still a lot of big bike fanatics. I thought that big bikes and bikers are things of the past like way back in the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s. But recently, I noticed that everytime I go to downtown Chicago I always see a group of bikers. Along my bus stop is also a Harley Davidson store and I must say everytime I look in there, there’s always a handful of people. The store features some Harley apparel, Harley collectibles and some Harley parts. Oh well, I guess big bikes aren’t things of the past. I propbably just don’t notice them anymore since I go out very seldom.
Corel Graphics Suite has almost no value!
I can only say that its not true… I used to work as graphic artist/designer back in the Philippines and since then I’m already using Coreldraw for all my design projects. It’s the best and easiest software for drawing tools. Later that year, I switched to Adobe Photoshop as my main software for graphics designing but not for vector graphics. I would say that Coreldraw is still the best and the easiest among others especially on making brochures with 16-page in single PS file that is ready to go on a CTP RIP with correct bleeds and registration marks without using any other software title. Do you think you can do that on InDesign? Coreldraw has been doing this since version 9.

I’m writing this entry because I just recently read a review about the latest Coreldraw X4 released by Corel Corporation. The owner of that review blog/website said that ‘CorelDraw X4 Sucks’ and it has almost no value. He’s comparing it to what Adobe can do. Whatever?! Tell me why should we buy and use 4 separate titles (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat) to get the same results we get with one (ok, two, but hey, they are in the same package) title? What does Adobe offer more than Corel? And don’t hit me coz I like Adobe too. It’s a good software and one of the best too and If I’m not mistaken, most widely used in the market. I think its only in the habbit, what you get used to is a major factor… that is what I believe. On my case, I’m used to both of them and still exploring and learning other features of them.

The game room
Nov 8, 2008 Ideas
My husband always wanted a room where there would be all kinds of entertainment stuff. Like a game room. A room with different kinds of video games, video players, wide screen TV, theater seating, gaming chair and what not. Since we both like things like these, I personally would enjoy such a room. But since we live in a small one bedroom apartment it would be impossible to have a game room. Maybe we can make a small section of our living a little game area but still it wouldn’t be the same experience as having a real game room. Maybe, next time if or when we get a bigger place or our own house. I’m definitely looking forward and excited to move to a new place and make this room possible.

Diet pills confuse me
Nov 8, 2008 Ideas, Worth Blogging
Diet pills somehow confuse me. There’s lots of them right now. Different names, different looks, works in different ways and different prices. I don’t know which one works for sure. There are cheap ones that say although they’re cheap, they really do the job better than expensive ones. While on the other hand, there are expensive diet pills that say they’re the real deal and not one of those cheap immitation ones. Since, I don’t know which one works for sure I’d rather exercise for now until I find a really good diet pill.
