I love my very Handy Pocket Camcorder!

Kodak Zi8 is my new pocket HD camcorder. It was a Valentine’s gift from my loving husband. You have no idea how I’ve been enjoying it since the first day we bought it from Bestbuy. It is one coolest gadget I’ve ever had. If you can remember or if you’ve been reading my blog ever since, you will know that it was on the top of my shopping spree list this year. I’ve been dying to get a HDD-Handycam for years now but since the Flip Video became popular because of its being handy for a camcorder I’ve decided to wait for a while until the company releases an HD version. Unfortunately, Kodak Zi8 came out first and I am so excited to own a pocket HD camcorder. I don’t regret it cos Kodak is a legit brand. I’m not sure what’s the difference between these two brands. What I can only say is that I am satisfied and happy with my Kodak Zi8.

I’m amazed on how clear my videos are especially when I’m viewing it on our HDTV using the included HDMI cable. I can now fully enjoy watching videos of my kids’ recorded memories. I’m looking forward to all the special events of the family this year like birthdays, Yuna’s field trips and school events. I can no longer wait! Also, have I ever mentioned that I like to make videos? I’d like to try making some music and funny videos.

DSLR want or need?

I know most of you know that I am really into the photography thingie. I am mostly active on Flickr where Photographers and the like unite. Its been years now that I keep saying I need a DSLR and I even keep telling all my Flickr friends about how tired I am of editing my photos to achieve a DSLR look. But, honestly, I want to think that I don’t need those digital slr cameras cos I really don’t need them lol. I think I’m not ready yet to have that such expensive camera cos I don’t have the luxury to spend much time on taking photos. I mostly use my advance point and shoot, the KodakZ710. I’ve been using it for almost 3 yrs now. It’s a great camera with almost the same function as a DSLR but the thing is you can’t attach good quality lenses. But… oh well, I’ve got my own talent where I can make my boring photos fabulously fantastic hehehe.

If given a chance this is what I want…

Actually, what I need to buy is a new tripod cos the one I have right now is broken. Not really broken but I lost that thing where you connect the camera on the top of the tripod. I like to take self-portrait photos cos that’s what I do in Flickr. I have lots of groups in Flickr whereas you submit photos according to the group’s weekly theme. But since I cant use my tripod, I’m recently inactive in Flickr but I’m busy offline.

I’m loving my new Kodak C813

I got my new pinky Kodak C813 from my SIL Valerie last Christmas. So far, I like it. It’s compact, easy to use and lightweight. The color is cute too, it matches my purple pouch which was also given to me by my SIL. It’s 8.2 Megapixel and 3x optical zoom. It features high ISO 1250 sensitivity, 5 white balance modes and 16 scene modes for enhanced shooting in a variety of scene conditions. The HD picture capture feature lets you snap high-definition photos and view them on your HDTV.

buy or not?

I’ve always wanted to get a nice Canon camera. I really like their SLR’s. The only thing that has been stopping me from getting one is the price. They’re just too expensive. I know that they’re definitely worth the price but in my case you know, the money can be used in a much better way. Every time my husband and I try to get something like this we always change our minds in the last minute and get something we really need instead. I hope sometime we can make extra money and finally go for one.

8 megapixel cameraphone!

How is it to have a mobile phone with a whopping 8 megapixels camera? I wonder what’s the feeling…. I wish I could get the new Sony Ericsson C905 8 MP Cybershot. The phone is to be released this year and was announced only this month. It’s the first GSM handset that ships with 8 megapixels worth of camera goodies. So… Which would you prefer to bring along with you? Our old 8 megapixel Canon EOS-1D Mark II N? or this phone? I know what you’re thingking. You’re gonna choose the Canon EOS because the feeling is different and yadda! yadda! yadda! But you know what I’d rather have an 8 Megapixel cameraphone instead of bringing those bulky REAL cameras. Simply because you can’t bring it every minute with you just to capture the unexpected moments. I wonder how much will it cost… nyahahaha! Am sure I can’t afford it :D

My New Sandisk SD Card…

new memory card for camera I finally have a new SD card for my Kodak z710 digital camera. I’ve been wanting to buy it for months now because it’s been ages since I last used my digital camera. I really miss taking pictures with my kodak camera. Yesterday night, I received an extra payment from blogtoprofit more than enough for me to buy the memory card I want. I bought the SD card at RadioShack brand new for $19.99 2GB which is much affordable than other local stores and online stores. Before, I said that I wanted a new 4GB SD card but when I saw how the price of the 2GB dropped I changed my mind though I also found out that 4GB memory card only cost $29.99 but we weren’t certain if the SDHC or High Capacity card is compatible with my camera… awwww! It’s ok! I’m happy with my new SD card no need for me to whine because I don’t think I’m going to consume all the 4GB space since I’m always transferring pictures and erasing them all the time.

Kodak Easyshare Z710

I’m loving my new digicam Kodak Easyshare z710. Oppss don’t get me wrong, its not that new, like i bought it yesterday. No, its not. We bought it last April 19, yep! yep! tagal na. I just thought of featuring it since I haven’t yet. We decided to buy it since we can’t afford to buy the SLR yet and i can’t wait to have a decent digital cam. Alam nyo namang bulok na yung old digicam ko but i love and keep it since its also a gift from Luvski :D

Some Reviews:

The Kodak Easyshare Z710 is a stylish bridge-style camera with a massive 10x zoom lens covering 38-380mm, 7.1 megapixel sensor, 2 inch LCD screen, and a full range of creative shooting modes, including fully manual. Other features of the Z710 designed to appeal to the photographer in you include three types of exposure metering, ISO 64-800, a fast aperture of f2.8 at the wide-angle lens setting, and an electronic viewfinder. If all that sounds too complicated, there is also the usual Kodak emphasis on ease of use, with a full range of auto and scene modes for the less experienced user. With a recommended retail price of £279 in the UK, the Kodak Easyshare Z710 attempts to bridge the gap between value and performance and appeal to those who want DSLR-like features without the DLSR price-tag. The Kodak Z710 also offers the added benefits of image preview on the LCD screen, the avoidance of dust problems via the fixed lens and video capability.

Features i like the most:

PASM Mode—get the shot the way you want it
For those times when you feel like flexing a little more creative muscle try the PASM modes. You can experiment with various exposure controls to get the look you are after. Take control of the amount of light coming into the camera by changing the aperture (A), or length of time the shutter stays open (S), or take total exposure control by manually selecting both aperture and shutter speed (M). The PASM modes put you as in charge as you want to be.

Program, aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual modes

  • Program mode (P)—camera sets optimal shutter speed and aperture combination
Aperture priority mode (A)—you choose aperture, the camera sets shutter speed
Shutter priority mode (S)—you choose shutter speed, the camera sets aperture
Manual mode (M)—you choose both the aperture and shutter speed

Manual (M) Controls

Exposure compensation—±2.0 EV in 1/3 EV step increments
    Aperture—f/2.8–f/3.7
Shutter speeds—8–1/1000 sec. in 1/3 step increments
    ISO sensitivity—auto, 64, 100, 200, 400, 800** (selectable)
Auto focus—TTL multi-zone AF, center zone AF
Exposure metering type—multi-pattern, center-weighted, center spot
White balance—auto, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent, and open shade
Flash mode—auto, off, fill, red-eye reduction

Why i dont like LOMOgraphy

…..

LOMOgraphy is a profitable business. It makes money on everybody’s desire to be part of the incrowd. To do that, it has to uphold a certain “indie cred”. That’s another way of saying that they’re consciously oblique with the purpose of creating a high threshhold. Go look at their site. It’s clear they’ve made it purposely hard to navigate and understand. Anybody who aspires to be a “true LOMOgrapher” surfs to their site and is supposed not to get it. Then after a while when all becomes clear, he or she feels reinforced, an “insider”, by the accomplishment of understanding their obliqueness. I guess it depends on your point of view whether you call that “marketing” or “manipulation”, but perhaps the two are the same thing.

LOMOgraphy is a profitable business. To keep business going, the Society has to come up with something new every now and then. It started with the LC-A, but the LOMOgraphy Imperium has extended itself to include clothing, online photo services, Chinese cult cameras like the Action Sampler, and parties and get-togethers. More and more, it’s encapsulating their consumers with a pre-fab lifestyle, like your one-stop personality shop.

Damaging in this respect is the way in which they label everything LOMOgraphy, like that St. Petersburg-based factory has anything to do with the business any more. I doubt LOMO minds the exposure, but perhaps they do mind the insinuation that LOMOgraphy is similar to low quality, low tech photography. The whole thing has accentuated the very things LOMO would not like to have accentuated. It’s so respectless to an otherwise very capable company. And now the Society is marketing plastic Chinese cameras under the LOMOgraphy brand name – what’s that all about?

something i have read from this photographer. Sounds interesting isn’t it? Coz everyone of us loves LOMOgraphy :waiting:
